8 - In Repair

Alarm clock blinks 12 o'clock shadow
The wrinkles I wear show I'm worn
Looking from the corner, the future so close
Modern crossroads, hmmm, is this what you chose?

The bags under my eyes…heavy, holding you
The feet on my legs tired, confused
Running so fast, quietly passing the past
Modern crossroads, hmmm, an ending at last?

Two steps away, pride fuels my pain
Which choice to make? Does it matter today?
Can I walk away safely from this decision delay?
Modern crossroads, hmmm, I think I see the way

The questions we ask, only our ears can hear
Our ego's abused and our mind doesn't care
Patience is out playing with anger and despair
Modern crossroads, hmmm, in this state of repair

When you take the first step, the second comes in so quick
It's not about wrong or right, just taking it all in
You're never really ready to do it all again, but….
If your minds in the past, you never find where to begin.
